Semi-custom vs full-custom, what you actually need

For most homeowners, semi-custom is the right answer. You get real wood boxes, dovetailed drawers, and soft-close everything at a price that makes sense. Full-custom is worth it when you have unusual ceiling heights, a specific inlay or profile in mind, or an island that doesn't fit any standard module.

Our most-requested door styles

Painted white shaker is the runaway winner right now, it fits every home style, hides fingerprints in a satin sheen, and won't date. Painted navy or forest green on an island paired with white perimeter is our second-most-common request. Slab in a matte European white is trending for modern homes.

What goes inside a cabinet that lasts

Open any of our kitchen cabinets and you will find the same spec at every price point: three-quarter-inch plywood boxes, solid maple face frames, dovetailed drawer boxes in solid wood, and Blum soft-close hinges and under-mount drawer glides rated for 100,000 cycles. That hardware rating is not marketing, it is the difference between drawers that still glide in year twelve and drawers you are fighting by year four.

We do not build particleboard boxes, even on budget projects. Georgia humidity finds the cheap core material eventually, and a swollen sink base is the most common cabinet failure we get called to replace from other shops. Plywood costs a little more on day one and nothing extra ever again.

Cabinet refacing and painting, when a full tear-out is not needed

If your cabinet boxes are plywood, level, and in a layout you like, a full replacement may be more project than you need. We reface with new doors, drawer fronts, and matching veneer on the frames, and the kitchen reads as brand new for roughly half the cost of new custom cabinets. Johns Creek and Alpharetta homes renovated around 2010 are the most common candidates, the boxes are usually solid and only the dark cherry doors date the room.

We also paint existing cabinetry in our spray booth when the door style is worth keeping. Doors come off, get prepped and sprayed with a catalyzed finish, and go back on with new soft-close hinges. The result is a factory finish, not a brushed-on look, and it pairs well with new countertops to refresh a whole kitchen on a tighter budget.

From measure to install, the custom cabinet timeline

Every cabinet project starts with a free in-home measure and a design session in our Lawrenceville showroom. You leave the design appointment with a 3D rendering and a fixed, itemized quote. Once you approve the design, fabrication runs six to nine weeks depending on door style and finish, and we schedule your install date before the first panel is cut so nothing sits in a warehouse.

Install typically takes two to four days for a full kitchen. Our own crew sets, levels, and scribes every cabinet, hangs the doors, and adjusts every drawer before we call it done. Because the same company designed, built, and installed your cabinets, there is one warranty and one phone number if anything ever needs a tweak.
